Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for match day.

Work through the relevant steps below for the Apple TV timer or iPhone and iPad controller.

The controller cannot find the TV timer

  1. Open WDJJ Timer on the Apple TV and leave it visible.
  2. Connect the Apple TV and iPhone or iPad to the same local network.
  3. Allow Local Network access for WDJJ Timer Controller in the device’s Settings app.
  4. Temporarily disable a VPN or guest-network isolation that may block devices from seeing one another.
  5. Restart both apps and try again.

Use the controller without an Apple TV

Select Use Locally on the nearby timers screen. Local mode runs the full timer on the iPhone or iPad without a network or TV connection. Timer sounds play automatically in local mode.

No timer sound

  1. Raise the volume on the television, soundbar, or receiver.
  2. Confirm the Apple TV audio output is set to the speaker system you expect.
  3. Check that the television or receiver is not muted.
  4. Close WDJJ Timer, reopen it, and start a short test round.
  5. If other Apple TV apps are also silent, restart the Apple TV and check its audio settings.

The remote is not responding

  1. Press the Back button once, then try selecting the control again.
  2. Confirm the Siri Remote can navigate the Apple TV Home Screen.
  3. Recharge or reconnect the remote if it does not respond elsewhere.
  4. Force close WDJJ Timer and reopen it.

The timer does not fit or looks incorrect

  1. Check the television’s picture-size setting and disable zoom or overscan.
  2. Set the Apple TV video output to a resolution supported by the television.
  3. Close and reopen WDJJ Timer after changing display settings.

The timer unexpectedly reset

WDJJ Timer intentionally stops and resets the current match when the app goes into the background. Returning to the Apple TV Home Screen, opening another app, or restarting WDJJ Timer will return it to match setup.
